If you’re into Gotham Knights, today’s a good day. Not only has Warner Bros. Games released a 14-minute Gamepay video, no, pre-orders are starting now.

An extensive look at the gameplay

In the gameplay video, you’ll see Nightwing and Red Hood in the upcoming third-person open-world ARPG, set after the death of Batman. Game Director Geoff Ellenor is the voice that guides us through the 14 minutes of video footage.

Mobility is a big theme in Gotham Knights, so Ellenor introduces Nightwing’s glider, the flying trapeze, and Red Hood’s mystical leap. In addition, each character has the opportunity to use the Batcycle.

In the video you can also see the belfry, i.e. the base from which you can start your missions. You don’t have to face the dangers alone, because there is a co-op mode that seems to be designed for two players, despite the update on the PSN site.

With the heroes you have the choice between Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and Red Hood. Whether specific missions require a specific hero is not clear.

All editions of Gotham Knights at a glance

In addition to the standard edition for 74.99 euros, you can also get Gotham Knights as a deluxe or collector’s edition. These more expensive versions cost you 94.99 euros or 299.99 euros.

Is it worth it? Basically, everyone has to decide for themselves, but we’re happy to tell you what’s in the different editions. In addition to the main game, the deluxe version also includes the DLC “Visionary Package” with various cosmetic items.

The Collector’s Edition for just under 300 euros has more to offer. It includes the Deluxe Edition content, an augmented reality pin, a 16-page media book, an exclusive map of Gotham City, a diorama with four character statues, and much more.

No matter which version you choose, you will receive a small bonus as a pre-order. This is the 233 Kustom Batcycle skin based on the vehicle featured in DC Detective Comic #233.

On console only for the next-gen

The game will not appear on PS4 and Xbox One on October 25, 2022. For PC, Xbox Series and PS5, you can buy the digital editions of the game from PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam and Epic Games Store. Physical versions are of course also available in stores.

It is not clear why Sony and Microsoft are not releasing it on the older consoles. The press release simply states: “In order to offer players the best possible gaming experience, the game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.”
