Tony Todd, the actor who will play Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 tweeted about the progress of the title. Is the development of the exclusive PS5 on the right track? Enough to come out in 2023?

Insomniac Games, Sony’s most prolific PlayStation Studios, is racing to release Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Two PS5 exclusives.

The Venom actor on the set of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

After releasing the very good Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Insomniac Games is back on its other projects and there is not just one! But the one that interests us right now is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In this sequel, Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be shaken up by the arrival of Venom. One of the iconic characters of the Marvel universe. And to give it substance, the studio hired a figure of horror cinema: Tony Todd. Mister Candyman, the real 1992 version and not the failed 2021 remake.

On his Twitter account, the actor indicated that he participates in performance capture sessions … which leaves little room for doubt about the game for which he is recording. But Internet users have sought to make sure.

Thus, several players responded to the tweet by referring to Venom and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, messages which were liked by Tony Todd.

Advanced development?

With this simple tweet, difficult to decide on the progress of the development. Especially since it can happen that recordings occur at any stage of the creation if necessary. But for now, the title is still targeting a 2023 release on PS5. It will therefore be available before Marvel’s Wolverine, which also squats Sony’s performance capture premises.
