Sony now says that they sold two million Playstation 5 in the last quarter of last year, which means that they now sold a total of 19.3 million consoles according to the latest figures. Deliveries are lower than the year before, when Sony sold 3.3 million consoles. This means that Playstation 5 ends up even further away from Playstation 4 when it comes to sales, when PS4 was as old as PS5 is now, 3.1 million consoles were sold in an equally long period. Not entirely unexpectedly, however, it is not that Sony has no buyers, it is instead the lack of components that makes up for it.

When it comes to game sales, it went a little better with 70.5 million PS4 / PS5 titles sold compared to 61.4 million a year ago.

Sony hopes that sales will pick up again and says that they expect increased sales of 34 percent next quarter. The company will also soon launch new PS Plus subscriptions.
