A Paris appeals court has upheld the convictions of former French prime minister François Fillon and his wife, Penelope, in a fake job scandal that ended his political career. But the sentences handed to the couple in the 2020 embezzlement trial were reduced. Fillon was given four years in prison, three of them suspended.
