Google allows you to store contact information directly in your account. This is much more convenient and reliable than keeping them in the smartphone’s memory or on a SIM card, if only because it’s easier to sync them between devices or restore them when you buy a new smartphone.

Even cloud storage of contacts does not guarantee protection against loss, especially if you give your smartphone to someone, forgetting to log out of your account on it. Your friend will start cleaning the phone book, delete the contacts you have recorded, which will cause them to disappear from all your devices.

Contacts can disappear for other reasons: for example, you delete information about a person, and then you realize that you still need him. Or your loved one will get into your smartphone and decide to clean it up by barbarously reviewing the list of people you can call or write to.

Fortunately, contacts can be easily restored. How to do it?

Open website in browser contacts.google.com, log into your Google account, click on the menu on the left side of the screen, expand the “More” submenu and select “Revert changes”. Specify the period of time for which you want to restore contacts, and click on the “Confirmation” button. Contacts will return.

Keep in mind that you can only restore an old version of your contact list within the last 30 days. Changes made more than a month ago cannot be returned.
