The long-running Crackdown franchise could possibly be continued again. Corresponding hopes are fueled by a new job advertisement from the developer studio.

Crackdown 3 was released in 2019 after years of development, but ultimately failed to meet the high expectations. Still, one of Microsoft’s Xbox-exclusive flagship franchises could continue once again.

The last part was announced and hyped too early for its time, but ultimately had to deal with a number of problems. This had also led to the work being transferred to the studio Sumo Digital – and they could possibly stay true to the brand and develop a Crackdown 4.

A new job posting has now appeared, which suggests a new part of the open-world sci-fi shooter. An Associate Art Director is being sought to help “further develop and expand the universe of an existing AAA IP,” it says.

In concrete terms, the tender also refers to the two major AAA brands of the studio: LittleBigPlanet and Crackdown. In both cases there has been speculation about a sequel in the past, so a possible Sackboy comeback cannot be ruled out. We will keep you informed of further developments!
