Sharp has officially unveiled the new flagship smartphone Aquos 7 with a massive 1-inch main camera sensor developed in collaboration with Leica, as well as the mid-range Aquos Wish2.
The Sharp Aquos 7 features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Pro IGZO OLED display with 240Hz adaptive refresh rate, an impressive 2000 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision support and a 12.6MP selfie camera. The front and back panels are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
On the back is a new 47MP main camera with a massive 1-inch sensor that Sharp claims lets in 1.8 times more light than last year’s Aquos R6. The sensor, jointly developed by Sharp and Leica, features a seven-lens Leica Summicron lens with f/1.9 aperture and a focal length of 19mm. The second camera is a 1.9 MP portrait module.
Sharp Aquos 7 received a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. In addition, the smartphone is protected from moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard, and is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery.
Sharp Aquos Wish2 is a mid-range device with a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD display, Snapdragon 695 chipset, 13 MP main camera and 8 MP front camera, and a 3730 mAh battery.
The manufacturer claims that 35% of the Aquos Wish2 body is made from recycled plastic. The phone is also protected from moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard and runs on Android 12.
Both new items will go on sale in Japan in July in black and silver colors. Prices have not yet been disclosed.
