Update from June 10, 2022 (8:30 a.m.): at MyToys the PS5 packages can now be ordered continuously for almost 24 hours – several readers have made use of it. The price of the bundle including the HD camera has meanwhile been reduced by €50 to €749.99.
Why are the MyToys PS5 ‘deals’ available for so long? We suspect it’s the price point and the composition of the package, which is €100 to €150 above market price – depending on how you value FIFA 22, which was last included free with PS Plus.
If you need the console very urgently and are also willing to pay the extra charge, then you can strike here. But as I said: The total price is again in this case clear above the RRP. For a dealer who is supplied directly by Sony, this is a very unusual and, in our opinion, unjustified procedure.
If you care only for that horizonInterested in Bundle and have no use for FIFA 22 and Camera then come join eBay* currently cheaper way. This morning, just 620 devices are listed in their original packaging. If you catch a good time, you can get the ‘naked console’ for prices starting at €600.
Great news for all The Last of Us fans: As part of the Summer Game Fest, the Sony studio Naughty Dog yesterday announced a dedicated PlayStation 5 version of the PS3 classic from 2013. In contrast to the remastered version, hardly a stone was left unturned – among other things, the DualSense controller is also used. The game will be released on September 2nd.
Update from June 9, 2022 (10 a.m.): The Otto daughter MyToys remains the uncrowned inexplicable surcharge king among German PlayStation 5 dealers: for a package consisting of a console, Horizon: Forbidden West, FIFA 22 and camera or controller are called a proud € 799.99. The sum of the list prices is a maximum of 700 €.

Update from June 9, 2022 (8:15 am): Considering it’s supposed to be ‘so easy’ to get your hands on a PlayStation 5, buying a PS5 is still quite a hassle. Because it’s been three weeks since you bought the device from big providers like MediaMarkt* or Saturn* could order – at Euronics* and Medimax, you have to go back to March and April respectively to find the last online drop.

Following the advance ticket sales for Gamescom 2022 (August 24th to 28th, Cologne), which started yesterday, we received a number of questions as to whether Sony PlayStation would also be there. Many apparently speculate that God of War Ragnarok or try PlayStation VR2. Unfortunately, Sony has not yet commented on this. Update from June 7, 2022 (3 p.m.): What Amazon is testing in the USA will sooner or later cross the pond to Europe. In this specific case, it is an invitation system that is intended to help ‘real’ PS5 fans get a console – while commercial bot groups and resellers get nothing.
Update from June 7, 2022 (12 p.m.): Amazon now has both versions of the official one Horizon: Forbidden West-Bundles added to the range – once the PlayStation 5 with disc drive*, on the other hand the digital edition*. The latter could be an indication that we will experience another PS5 drop in the near future – possibly as early as tomorrow, Wednesday. Because this day of the week is statistically the most promising day to get hold of a PS5 on Amazon.

Message from June 7, 2022 (8:45 a.m.): We hope you were able to enjoy the long Pentecost weekend sufficiently – welcome to a new, albeit shortened, PS5 ticker week.
The entire south of the state – i.e. Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria – is currently on a two-week school holiday. With regard to the PlayStation 5, this has several implications because, on the one hand, many families have traveled, which reduces the number of possible competitors for drops. The effect could already be felt during past holiday dates because far fewer people are online.
Secondly, there are many headquarters of large retailers in the south, for example in Memmingen (GameStop), Ingolstadt (MediaMarkt / Saturn), Munich (Amazon) or Ulm (Müller).
