In light of your recent article, “Speeding tickets dropped during COVID in N.J., but fatal crashes went up,” this is an updated letter that I sent to the Star-Ledger and was published on April 20, 2011. For the most part, it reads the same way: I’ve read articles in your paper about increasing tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike, increasing the gas tax to help balance the state budget, and one about using red light cameras to make roads safer.
