Halo Infinite’s co-op mode has been postponed several times, but developers at 343 Industries confirmed this week that the mode will be available for testing as early as July before its official release later this year. To play this kind of beta version in advance, you must be a Halo Insiders member, and we explain here how to register.

How to Join Halo Insider

To register for the Halo Insider program, you must validate that you are of legal age, and follow the steps below.

  • Go on the registration page
  • Follow the instructions (in English) and fill in the information
  • Validate the console step and the PC step
  • Accept the confidentiality agreement

Once all the steps have been validated, you will receive an email entitled “Welcome to Halo Insider”. It confirms enrollment in the program, but does not necessarily guarantee access to game sessions or a beta of Halo Infinite. As a reminder, here is the latest official communication from the studio about Halo Infinite’s cooperative mode.

With campaign co-op from #HaloInfinite arriving later in the year, we plan to have it tested for Halo Insiders members in July. Sign up and make sure your Halo Insider profile is up to date for a chance to participate!

What is the Halo Insider program? What is a flight?

The Halo Insider program is used by developers to gather information and test certain features of Halo games with a panel of players prior to release.

The program then runs flights, in other words game sessions planned on PC or console (technical previews), with a panel of players chosen according to different criteria. Flights are chunks of the game or in-development versions of the game designed to test certain features and achieve specific goals before the games are officially released. While the team is always striving for the best experience possible, the very nature of a flight means that these releases will contain bugs (some known, some not) and incomplete feature sets.

How to be chosen for a flight?

Registered players will be selected based on a number of factors to align with the specific goals and needs of the flight.

These may include factors such as familiarity and content preferences, availability, and PC hardware specifications. If selected, you will receive an email with all the necessary instructions on how to get the game version and when, where and how to participate in organized sessions.

Note that actively participating in flights often gives priority access to subsequent flights. Those who do not actively participate may be removed from future flights. The point here is to help the developers with feedback so that the game can be improved and meet expectations.

Members of the Halo Insider program who apply for console testing may be invited to participate in early access review sessions for Halo games in development. Each test having specific objectives, all members will not systematically participate in all sessions. To increase your chances of selection, make sure your Halo Insider profile is complete and accurate.
