Gas prices hit record highs in New Jersey as the average cost of a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline has climbed to more than $4.47 with oil prices climbing and demand on the rise, according to the American Automobile Association. The average cost of a gallon of regular is up nearly 25 cents from a week ago and nearly 37 cents from a month ago, according to AAA. The average cost for a gallon a year ago was $3.02.
