At the beginning of last week, some strategy and simulation classics were released on CD Projekt’s gaming platform GOG.com re-released. The most prominent representative of the list is probably the single title from SSI (Strategic Simulations Incorporated), the well-known American strategy and role-playing company.

The round tactics title Dynasty General (also known as People’s General) was originally published by then-SSI publisher Mindscape in 1998. This is part of the renowned tank generalseries and used after the previously released Panzer General 3D the last time a fixed, isometric view of the battlefields, which should come close to a 3D view. In the following titles, due to the technological advances in the gaming industry, one of the innovations used was a real and freely rotatable 3D battle map.

In Dynasty General, a fictional conflict between the Chinese army and NATO troops, which want to put an end to the aggressive urge to expand in the most populous country on earth, is thematically addressed within the campaign. Accordingly, you take over the supreme command of both modern and real weapon types that existed at the time as well as fictitious ones in order to defeat your opponent on the respective campaign map in turn tactics.

Dynasty General is currently still available on GOG.com for €4.29. After the discount phase has expired, a regular 4.99 euros will be charged for the title.

Other PC classics from Sid Meier and “wild” Bill Stealy The company MicroProse, which was founded in 1982 and was published again at the same time, can be found below, listed according to their year of publication:
