By Alex Lang New York (Knewz) — The national average for gas prices continues to climb ahead of the summer travel season. According to AAA, the national gas average as of May 9 was $4.32. That is up about 13 cents in the last week. The news is not good for travelers just weeks ahead of Memorial Day when prices tend to spike for the holiday. In 2021, the average gas price for a gallon on Memorial Day was $3.04, so it’s likely that mark will be shattered.
