A Russian hacker group called Killnet has publicly threatened the UK and European countries with cyber violence. This was written in SecurityLab.
According to the source, earlier one of the members of the Killnet group was arrested in Romania by the National Crime Agency. He was suspected of having links with the Russian government.
After the arrest, other Killnet hackers issued warnings and threats against the UK and several other European countries. In their Telegram channel, they threatened to “destroy Romania, Great Britain and Moldova” if their ally is not released within 48 hours. In addition, the hackers promised to destroy the information structure and the Ministry of Health of these countries, and even turn off the ventilators in their hospitals.
Edition DailyMail reportsthat the hacker suspected by Romania has already been released from the detention center for the duration of the investigation. It is not yet clear whether this was done in response to the threats, or independently of them. However, Five Eyes, an international cybersecurity agency, claims that “the UK has robust cyber defense measures in place and will respond appropriately to any attack that significantly affects the country.”
