The action role-playing game Diablo Immortal currently stands in the crossfire of criticism. The culprit is not the actual gameplay, but rather the controversial microtransactions. The Pay2Win allegations are piling up, some recently published videos show very clearly the violent discrepancy to the Free2Play approach. Sometimes that even drives very whimsical flowersas evidenced by recent reports from some players.
Ads as rewards instead of upgrades
Normally, it is common practice for players in an action RPG to complete tasks a reward receive. Ideally, this is better gear, which make the hero a little stronger. In Diablo Immortal, however, the clocks tick a little differently in this regard. There is sometimes Advertising and obtrusive Pay2Win references as a reward.
The Twitter user provides proof of this “dotodoya”. He had recently published a screenshot as part of a recent tweet showing a scene right after the conclusion of the dungeon “Destruction’s End” indicates. Instead of being happy about new equipment or similarly useful items, he only gets it as a “reward”. an advertising window to see. In it, he is touted to buy a chest containing various items for $6.99.
That’s right, for the effort of fighting through a dungeon, the player is given the opportunity to another microtransaction in Diablo Immortal (buy now ) to perform. Incidentally, this is just one of many examples of this kind. You should not contribute to that the Pay2Win discussions around Diablo Immortal will dry up in the foreseeable future. Change that too Blizzard Entertainment’s attempts at explanation probably not very much.
