The world-famous WhatsApp messenger has received two new features that have been tested over the past few weeks. This is reported by the profile resource 9to5Mac.
According to the source, WhatsApp received two innovations that will simplify the work with the messenger and expand the possibilities of communication. One of these features has been present in Telegram for quite a long time – it is the ability to send files up to 2 GB in size.
However, in the case of WhatsApp, this is better implemented, since the files will be protected by end-to-end encryption by default in any chats; in order to use it in Telegram, you will need to create a secret chat every time to send a file. Previously, WhatsApp allowed you to send a file weighing no more than 100 MB.
The second feature concerns group chats – now you can add up to 512 participants to one group. The WhatsApp team notes that the request to increase the maximum number of group members was the most popular of all feedback requests. Now it has been implemented. By the way, in parallel, the messenger is preparing to launch a “supergroup”, which has no analogues yet. However, their practicality is still in question.
Earlier, we told what is already known about the future Telegram Premium subscription.
