It looks like Hideo Kojima is working on a new horror title. Overdose is the name of the as yet unannounced game.

Dark corridors, flashlights and a familiar voice

This information comes from industry insider Tom Henderson. He claims to have seen early footage of Overdose along with actress Margaret Qualley, who voiced Mama and Lockne in Death Stranding.

As Henderson reports, Kojima’s horror game is not a second part of Death Stranding – although according to actor Norman Reedus it seems to be in an early phase of development.

Henderson describes what he saw in the material. The video showed Qualley’s character walking through dark corridors with a flashlight in third-person perspective. Allegedly, Overdose should also be playable from the first-person perspective.

There was a moment of shock at the end of the video, followed by the words “GAMEOVER”. After that there were two overlays that said “A Hideo Kojima Game” and “OVERDOSE”. A possible logo for the game has also made it to the public.

Kojima’s latest creation at Summer Game Fest?

Kojima himself doesn’t seem pleased with Henderson’s report, as according to the insider VGC reported, Kojma Productions reported and asked him to take his article offline. Since the article on Try Hard Games does not exist anymorethis increases the truth content of the statement.

Kojima had a video call with Summer Game Fest creator Geoff Keighley on May 31, according to one of Kojima’s personal assistants. That, plus the fact that Kojima wanted to keep Overdose information under wraps, could mean he plans to reveal his next game during the big digital show.
