Germany’s Davis Cup captain Michael Kohlmann is hopeful Alexander Zverev can return to the tennis court in late summer after tearing ankle ligaments at the French Open last week. Zverev, 25, had surgery in Munich on Tuesday after tearing all three lateral ligaments in his right ankle having suffered the injury his his Roland Garros semi-final with Rafael Nadal. Participating in the next grand slam, Wimbledon from June 27, has already been ruled out by Zverev but a return for the US Open in New York from August 29 is not impossible.
