Tiktok, the most popular social network among young people, has made a number of changes and additions recently, not least the ability to publish longer videos.
Now comes another novelty: Avatars. These are 3D-rendered faces whose expression follows what you do in front of the camera, ie about the same idea as Apple’s Memoji, Snapchat’s Bitmoji and Meta’s avatars.
Tiktok’s avatars are slightly more realistic in appearance and you can make a wide range of appearance settings to suit you, both the face itself and accessories such as headgear and glasses. To get started with avatars, open the effects list and look for the Avatar effect.
