The return to work on site at the Apple Park office has not been entirely easy for Apple after the pandemic. Apple’s policy is that employees must work from the office at least three days a week from May 23, with two optional days a week, but not all employees have been delighted with the plan.

Now one of Apple’s top executives is leaving the company, after wanting more flexibility and the opportunity for home work, writes The Verge journalist Zoë Schiffer on Twitter. Ian Goodfellow is one of the company’s foremost experts in machine learning.

He states that the dismissal is partly due to Apple’s policy regarding office work.

– I really believe that more flexibility would have been the best policy for my team, Goodfellow writes in a message to his closest employees.
