Today, June 6th, as part of conferences WWDC 2022 Apple has introduced a new 13-inch MacBook Pro. In Cupertino, once again they did not hold an in-person event, but recorded the presentation on video. In the most compressed time interval, Apple managed to fit as much information about the new computer in the old design. According to rumors available before the presentation, the release of the Pro-shki in the new design was postponed due to supply problems.

MacBook Pro 2022 keeps the old design, but updated inside

MacBook Pro 13 on M2 – Differences

The new MacBook Pro 13 is equipped with an M2 processor. It has 8 performance and 10 graphics cores. The new processor is 39% more powerful than its predecessor M1 in image processing. It also allows the new MacBook to play video up to 20 hours on a single charge. And the active cooling system should prevent the processor from throttling. The MacBook Pro 13 supports up to 24GB of RAM and up to 2TB of built-in storage.

New computer, new processor

Naturally, the Retina screen has not gone away, but now it is equipped with a P3 color gamut, which is very useful for those who work with images. At the same time, the display supports a peak brightness of up to 500 nits. Such innovations will allow the most accurate reproduction of colors, which is so important for designers.

Power-efficient and actively cooled, the new MacBook Pro 13 can play up to 20 hours of video

One nice addition to the new MacBook is studio-quality microphones. Perhaps this is what will allow you to abandon external microphones for recording various podcasts.

Imaging performance increased by 39%

The new MacBook Pro 13 starts at $1299 in the US and will be available in a month. Unfortunately, these computers will not be officially delivered to Russia in the near future.

MagSafe is back in MacBook! But only in one

It would seem that the MacBook Pro is a more advanced computer, which means that it is the best for professional use. But it was not there. Apple failed to update the design of the firmware, and it retained the look of its predecessor, and with it the old set of connectors. So the new MacBook Pro ships with old USB-C connectors and doesn’t have a memory card slot or even a Magsafe magnetic charging port.

From this point of view, the new MacBook Air looks much more attractive. MagSafe alone will just make it more practical to use, as it will keep the charging port from getting damaged if accidentally disconnected. But the air laptop also supports fast charging with a power of 67 W, and also does not have active cooling, which makes it completely silent with a performance comparable to that of a firmware.
