It’s been a few months since the last update of KeePass. Version 2.51 has now been released. A number of new features and improvements have been added in this version.

KeePass is a free password manager. Which should not be confused with the KeePassXC. The list of changes is once again very long. So here is just a short excerpt from the release notes.

  • Most fixed-size dialogs now detect whether they fit on the current screen, and if a dialog doesn’t fit (eg due to a very high DPI factor), its size is reduced and scrollbars are displayed.
  • Added plural entry names in the main window (eg the command to edit the currently selected entry(s) is now called either ‘Edit Entry’ or ‘Edit Entries’, depending on the number of entries selected).
  • Added support for opening URLs with Waterfox in private mode.
  • Added the ‘Copy Title’ and ‘Copy Notes’ input commands (in the ‘Other Data’ menu).
  • Added horizontal entry separators in tabular HTML exports/printing.
  • Improved performance when initializing the main window.
  • Improved database toolbar button names/tooltips in main window.
  • Improved tooltips and accessibility of text fields for password repetition.
  • When a dark theme is active, the background color of the text boxes is now darker.
  • The default fonts used when printing or exporting to HTML have been improved.
  • Font selections in the options dialog are now only saved when the dialog is closed [OK] accepted.
