Tinkoff Bank has changed the conditions for replenishing a ruble account using foreign currency at ATMs. Previously, the conversion of dollars and euros into rubles was carried out at the rate of the Moscow Exchange during its work or at the internal rate of the bank when the exchange was not working, and now Tinkoff charges an additional 10% of the conversion amount for such replenishment. On weekends and non-working days, the conversion is calculated at the rate that was fixed at the close of trading on the Moscow Exchange.
Let’s assume that the exchange is still working. Its exchange rate is 63 rubles per dollar. You change 1,000 dollars at an ATM with new conditions according to the following formula: conversion amount × Moscow exchange rate + 10% × conversion amount × Moscow exchange rate. Under the new conditions, the amount will appear on your account: 1000 × 63 + 10% × 1000 × 63 = 69,300 rubles. Under the old conditions, you would have received only 63,000 rubles.
Moscow Exchange is open every weekday from 10:00 to 19:00 Moscow time. Detailed instructions for replenishing a ruble account with foreign currency through an ATM, as well as a list of cities where you can exchange currency for rubles with a 10% yield – on the Tinkoff website.
