This week, Paypal, which owns Swedish Zettle, released an update to the app Zettle Go which makes all small separate card readers for contactless payments redundant. With this app, people can receive card payments directly on the phone. It all works via NFC and right now only with Android.
In addition to cards, it of course also works with other contactless solutions such as Google Pay, Apple Pay or other digital wallets that use NFC. Receipt can then be obtained digitally, which is undeniably practical.
Zettle Go currently only works in Sweden, the UK and the Netherlands, but Paypal intends to launch the service in more countries soon.
