Some Apple TV owners complain about problems when listening to Dolby Atmos sound on external speakers connected to set-top boxes.
Judging by the Apple support forum, the problem started in September 2021. Users report that when listening to Dolby Atmos content, the audio sometimes either cuts out completely and becomes silent, or does not sync with the video, or is interrupted in places.
The issue affects both Apple’s own apps and third-party apps, including Netflix and YouTube. Some users managed to partially solve the problem by disabling Dolby Atmos in the settings of the set-top box.
Apple itself has not yet commented on the situation, but it is likely that the company will fix this bug in a future tvOS update.
