With the opening keynote of the WWDC 2022, Apple unveils the main lines of the new evolution of its mobile OS: iOS 16. This year, no major changes but improvements made by small touches in the interface and the operation of the applications with two major aspects: strengthening the possibilities of personalization and multiplying the gateways to exchange content with his family or his tribe.
The first point highlighted in iOS 16 by the Californian firm is therefore the lock screen customization.
Beyond the choice of the wallpaper image, the new OS will make it possible to modify almost everything that is displayed on the screen with the choice of characters such as the color or the placement of elements, but also the application of filters for the background image.
And it will be possible to create several lock screens and assign them to different personal and/or professional spaces.
The lock screen also gives way to widgets and in particular to animated widgets with Live Activities which will go beyond simple notifications by bringing animated and regularly updated elements.
This separation of messages and content according to the personal or professional use of the iPhone will apply to different applications, in particular Messages, with the possibility of displaying only the content adapted to the context of the moment in order to remain focused on its current activity.
iOS 16 will therefore also strengthen the possibilities of exchanging content with loved ones, whether it is to follow a video at the same time or to share photos with family members with iCloud Shared which syncs photos with up to 5 different people.
What’s new in Plan in iOS 16 FR, Apple PayLater
The innovations made in Maps / Plan will be adapted to the French market with iOS 16, such as 3D views to facilitate recognition of the environment or planned routes with stages.
iOS 16 will also bring a optimized dictaphone function allowing you to write a message both by voice and with the keyboard, allowing you to switch from one to the other very easily.
Text recognition, already active in photos, is now also functional in videos, including instant translation of text, even thick and not necessarily directly in front of the photo sensor.
On the payment side, iOS 16 adds to Apple Pay the function PayLater allowing merchants to integrate a payment function in 4 installments without fees that can be activated at the time of the transaction.
