Microsoft no longer wants to wait for you to buy yourself an Xbox. Instead, the company is gearing up to bring the Xbox anywhere, wherever you are. This is part of the company’s initiative Xbox Play Everywhere, which has been expanded with the addition of Fortnite to Xbox Cloud Gaming. While you can stream games from the cloud to your smartphone and PC right now, Microsoft is also planning to expand access via TV.

In the next 12 months, Microsoft plans to release a device for streaming games from the cloud. It will probably look like Amazon First Stick or perhaps a small box like Roku. Like the Roku, the device will allow you to access movie and TV services in addition to your game library via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

If you already own a Samsung smart TV, you can ditch the separate device. Microsoft is working closely with its Korean partners to develop an Xbox app for streaming games on the company’s TVs. It should also appear within the next 12 months.

Such a move by Microsoft is hardly surprising. The company has repeatedly stated that it doesn’t care how you get into the Xbox ecosystem. But while saying this, she was simultaneously investing huge resources in her consoles. It was kind of a concession to the fact that gaming hardware is still the best way to get potential Game Pass subscribers.

But with games like Fortnite and Halo Infinite, Microsoft could be attracting an audience that is willing to try free games but doesn’t want to invest in expensive consoles.

Xbox plans to launch a streaming puck and Samsung app in the next year

Xbox cloud streaming is going to grow beyond the consoles, smartphones, and PCs in the near future. Xbox is planning new apps and devices.
