It’s no secret that Sony no longer wants to release its games only for its own PlayStation consoles, because by 2025 the company wants 30 percent of its new releases to be on the PC. We’ve received popular titles like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn in the past, and this year we’re planning to release Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, as well as Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales on PC. Of course, these are just the games that Sony itself has confirmed, but there are already some rumors and leaks circulating about possible PC ports for popular PlayStation titles.
Pretty compelling leak of Returnal and Sackboy for PC
For example, in May of this year we saw a leak of Returnal. A previously unknown game is in the Steam database under the project name Oregon, which could well be the third-person shooter. This leak has now gone through Reddit user EmpressOfSony reinforced with some screenshots from the PC version settings. Things like VSync, FPS count, resolution, and so on can be seen in the screenshots. Either someone went to great lengths to share a fake screenshot here, or these are actually the menus from the PC version of Returnal.
But that’s not all, as EmpressOfSony also shared two more screenshots of Sackboy: A Big Adventure. These also show the game’s in-game menus, with settings like motion blur, anti-aliasing, and more. Above all, Returnal probably offers a lot of setting options in terms of graphics and key assignments. Of course, as mentioned earlier, someone could have simply gone to the trouble of creating these fake screenshots, but it’s definitely not unlikely that these are real images of the PC versions of the two games.
A lot of titles were announced for Sony’s State of Play, but there was no trace of the PC versions of Returnal and Sackboy in the presentation. Returnal in particular would have caused some anticipation among the fans, but Sony might want to save these announcements for a later date. However, since proper PC menus already appear to be out there, hopefully it won’t be too long before we get an official announcement.
