In fiscal 2021, TÜV Rheinland achieved the highest EBIT in its 150-year history of EUR 157.8 million, a significant increase from the previous year (negative EBIT of EUR 23.6 million in 2020 due to non-recurring gains and losses); EBIT in 2021 was significantly higher by EUR 22.2 million compared to 2019 (EUR 135.6 million). The EBIT margin climbed to 7.5% from negative 1.2% in 2020 and 6.5% in 2019, the year before the pandemic.

TÜV Rheinland’s global workforce decreased slightly last year, with an average full-time workforce of 20,241 in 2021, a 2% decrease from the previous year, a decrease of 416. Capital expenditures in 2021 are approximately EUR 57.7 million.
