Starting today in Russia, it has become really inconvenient to replenish your Apple ID account. One of the two methods was banned. Apparently, the remaining second one is also malfunctioning – at least for one of the operators.
After the news about QIWI, I decided to “finally” throw money into my account. I used the function of crediting a fixed denomination from a previously connected mobile phone number: App Store -> Add money to the account.
And how I felt the trick. Instead of a large amount, at first I tried to transfer quite a bit, 300 rubles.
The App Store thought and displayed mistake:
Mobile payment is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.
While I was looking at this notification, the second one came from the MTS Money service:
Payment in the amount of 300.00 rubles. completed successfully.
Went to check what really happened. So:
one. The money was debited from the MTS account.
2. Apple ID money not enrolled.
Very interesting. I went to the MTS support chat to write, I outlined the problem. After 3 minutes, I checked the MTS account – and money returned. Naturally, the Apple ID balance has not changed.
Support responded with the following:
If the charge occurred, but then canceled, the refund will occur automatically within 30 days.
Waiting 30 days is tough. Then we tried the same thing, through the MegaFon number, this method worked without problems.
What are the conclusions? If you use your Apple ID top-up through your mobile phone balance and plan to continue paying for Apple subscriptions, it’s better to drop your money ahead. And then you never know, all of a sudden tomorrow the last shop will be closed. Just throw in a small amount at the beginning to check that everything works. I immediately returned, but it’s not a fact that others won’t have to wait 30 days.
