Hit em where it hurts?
Bleeping Computer reports that so-called hacktivists have attacked a central service used to distribute alcohol in Russia. This has led to the service being difficult to access for several days, which in turn has led to disruptions in the distribution chain for alcohol in Russia.
According to the Russian newspaper Vedomosti, several alcohol producers have had to cut back on their production as the goods they have already produced could not be delivered to their customers. A source tells Vedomosti:
“Due to a large-scale failure, factories cannot accept tanks with alcohol, and customers, stores, and distributors, can not receive finished products that have already been delivered to them.”
The Russian service for distributing alcohol has previously been mentioned as one of the targets that those who joined Ukraine’s so-called “IT Army” were urged to attack with DDoS attacks.
