Augsburg are close to reaching an agreement with coach Enrico Maaßen, according to broadcasters Sky on Sunday. Final details of the deal are yet to be clarified, Sky said. Maaßen currently coaches Borussia Dortmund’s under-23 team and would replace Markus Weinzierl. The Bundesliga club didn’t comment about the report when asked. Weinzierl announced his departure after the last Bundesliga match of the season against Greuther Fürth and had not informed the club about his decision beforehand. According to Weinzierl, there were no talks to extend his contract, which expires this summer.
