For many years, Twitter users have been requesting an editing feature to, for example, fix spelling mistakes and remove tagged people. Twitter has resisted but has now given in and is working on a way to edit published tweets.
9 to 5 Mac now reports that developer Nima Owji has found code that shows that there will be a timer in the editing interface. The timer shows 30 minutes but it is unknown if it actually has anything to do with the function or is just something used while the function is being tested.

Nima Owji has also discovered that it will not be possible to interact with previous versions of a tweet but only the latest edited version.
Jane Manchun Wong discovered last spring that the editing function does not change directly in a tweet but creates a new version with a unique ID that is linked to the original. This means that it is always the latest version that is displayed in the feed and can be interacted with – while the original can always be displayed.
Previously, among others, 9 to 5 Mac reported that the editing function will be limited to users who pay for Twitter Blue subscription.
