Over the past few years, the popular bank call scam has lost its effectiveness.

The population has already become wise with bitter experience and hangs up as soon as they hear the phrase about the security service. Therefore, telephone intruders have to come up with new ways of divorce – banks in the past, now in the course of calls from mobile operators.

Kyivstar, Vodafone, lifecell – anyone can introduce themselves. The scammer pretends to be an employee of the operator and plays out one of the pre-planned dialogues. Usually they offer to change the tariff to a more profitable one, take part in the promotion and get a discount, connect an additional option or link a bank card.

The ultimate goal of scammers is to force the victim to give SMS codes or enter the required USSD command in order to gain access to the personal account on the operator’s website and enable call and message forwarding to another number. Through your personal account, you can transfer money to another account, make a payment, and with redirection, even get a loan from a bank.

Official representatives of mobile operators have already commented on what is happening. They remind that the company’s employees will never ask the subscriber to give SMS codes or enter dubious USSD commands. Having heard such a request, you should end the dialogue and contact the real support service at the number from the official website in order to clarify the situation.
