The Unreal Engine 5 flexes its muscles again in a video. It’s again Youtuber “CryZENx” with a contribution to Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which now scores with impressive water effects.
The Unreal Engine 5 has been used surprisingly often lately when it comes to displaying potential games or their remakes. After “CryZENx” already knew how to impress with a fan remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time at the end of May, the follow-up follows. The focus of the new video is on water and waves, and “CryZENx” can actually score particularly well here. The “Youtuber” himself speaks of “the best-looking water in history”.
In order to be able to represent the water as realistically as possible, the indie developer relies on Fluid Flux by Krystian Komisarek for his Zelda remake. This plugin enables real-time flat water simulation, liquid surface rendering, ocean wave blending and liquid interaction. Interaction with the Niagara environment and a velocity-based advection method for foam, caustics and waves are also on board.

“CryZENx” offers its UE5 demo via Patreon so it is not available free of charge, but costs 2 euros per month. Either way, it’s still in early access. Alternatively, you can also on the Discord Channel of the user and download a not so up-to-date demo based on Unreal Engine 4. “CryZENX” has been working on his Zelda project for six years.
Other Unreal Engine 5 videos that we can recommend are the Assassin’s: Creed Infinity concept trailer from the Youtube channel “TeaserPlay, which takes the game to Japan in the year 1333. Also its “Reval trailer” to Mafia 4, which promises a reunion with fan favorites, is impressive.
