IT House June 5 news, Mozilla launched a translation plugin for Firefox Firefox browser that can work offline Firefox Translations.

In January 2019, Mozilla joined Project Bergamot, a consortium of the Universities of Edinburgh, Charles, Sheffield and Tartu, whose ultimate goal is to build a suite of neural machine translation tools that will enable Mozilla to develop a website translation plugin.

According to the official introduction, in addition to converting text to a specific language for the first time, Firefox Translations needs to download some files,The rest of the time use local resources to handle translationsrather than sending the information to the data center for processing.

IT Home understands that one of the biggest limitations of the plugin is that it can only handle Translation between 13 languages. Currently, Firefox Translations supports English, Spanish, Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, German, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian Bokmål and Nynorsk, Persian, Portuguese, Russian.

The translation plugin is now in Firefox add-on storeAvailable in Firefox Nightly, Beta, and regular builds.
