Microsoft informed Windows 11 users about issues that may occur after installing the recently released update KB5012643. The update is optional, you can ignore it, and if it is already installed, it makes sense to roll back.
KB5012643 causes problems in programs that use .NET Framework 3.5 components (such as Communication Foundation and Windows Workflow). Due to the bugs that have arisen, File Explorer may stop opening and some other applications or the screen will flicker, interfering with normal operation.
Microsoft will soon release a patch that fixes problems that occur after installing KB5012643. Until this happens, you can open “Settings”, go to “Windows Update” and manually remove the problematic patch. It was released only for Windows 11 version 21H2, so users of Windows 10 and earlier builds of Windows 11 have nothing to worry about in this case.
