A 21-year-old woman en route to the police station to report being assaulted by her boyfriend was shot in the back of the head when he pulled up beside her on Tuesday afternoon in Edison, authorities said. The woman was “alert and conscious” when she was brought to a local hospital and her injuries are not considered life-threatening, Edison police Deputy Chief Robert Dudash said Wednesday.
