Niantic really messes it up again and again. Why? Only the developers of Pokémon Go know this themselves, then after the big announcement, listening to the players is actually … not really what happens. Yes, somehow significant. And after the joy of someone taking pity on Niantic and managing the Pokémon Go community, player anger continues to happily explode onto the internet. Pokémon Go fans have to use some outlet for their disappointment, right? And what is the stumbling block this time?
What’s the problem?
Players want this, players want that. Preferably as simply and as quickly as possible. And free! Sure, it would be fantastic if the world worked like that – but it doesn’t. However, if you take a look at the reactions to the posts of the channel on Twitter, you will always find voices that differ against the reset of the Smoke item raise.
And what does Niantic do? Be silent. Say nothing, do nothing, just continue to work through their agenda.
News here, events there, more events, one more event and then there are always tickets to make the events more fun – or because, for example, shiny Pokémon (yes, sorry, FCKING Shinys) and whose increased chance of being caught are parked behind the paywall and people are too keen on cosmetics.
There is joy – not. By the way, I would have to pay 16.99 euros for the Go-Fest ticket in 2022 on my Android device, while it is only 14.99 euros on my Apple device. You can then figure out the reason for this yourself, because at Niantic nobody really wants to explain the different prices in a calm and understandable way.
And that pisses me and countless other Pokémon Go players off. The lack of communication in a world where communication is the most important asset. I could now say to myself “It’s ALWAYS about the money in the end” … yes, and then? As a developer, you might want to give some thought to what the players think. Because otherwise these players will no longer be there at some point.
Pokemon NO at its best
It would be a little funny if Niantic responded to memes and at least gave us a cowboy hat caterpie. So a caterpillar with a cowboy hat. Every time the Pokémon Go Twitter account tweets, Cowboy Hat Caterpillar’s bot responds and wishes for that Pokémon. But hey, instead it’s just Balloon Pikachu for the thirtieth time, and then Gracidea Pikachu in the summer.
The lack of creativity in Pokémon Go is no secret now. Just look at the loveless concept of Mega Evolution Watch BEFORE the rework. Mega Raids? Yes, but only in difficult. Use of Mega Pokémon? Yes… well, barely existent. They didn’t make the buck fat.
Well and now it’s been a few days the new type of mega development active and it’s actually pretty cool. But what would change be if there wasn’t still something to complain about?
Legendary Mega Raids are legendary failures
Well, did you also wonder when you opened the app a few days ago? Yay, the new Mega Evolution and the very first Legendary Mega Raids! Yay! And Niantic said Mega Raids are getting easier, but wait! Not all, right?
It must be said here that Niantic never said that EVERYONE Mega Raids become easier. Legendary mega raids are obviously and rightly excluded. INDEED Niantic also introduced a new difficulty level at the same time. There used to be tier 1 to tier 5 raids where the mega raids were tier 5. Niantic is now also unpacking Tier 6 for the legendary mega raids and the difference is more noticeable than it has been for a long time. Mega Latios and Mega Latios drive through Trainer faces like a truck.
Of course you have to get used to the new difficulty first. It also depends on which attacks the raid Pokémon masters. If you go into battle with Dragon-type Pokémon, which are quite effective, it could be that the Attacks from Mega Latios and Mega Latias with a Charged Attack be destroyed, because Latias and Latios are also dragon-type Pokémon. And dragons like to melt each other.
But apart from that: The real issue is not which Pokemon are best, but the fact that at this point players are being banned from Pokemon Go. If you live in the countryside, you can forget Tier 5 raids anyway – but Tier 6 raids? yeah lol And then the mega critters also need a lot more mega energy to develop than before. So once you get that far and defeat a Legendary Mega Pokemon, Niantic’s Mid-…well…you look stupid. It really makes you wonder if those in their development chamber even know what they’re doing.
