Swedish Zound Industries is today best known for its products under the licensed brand Marshall. They make headphones, but also speakers, and Marshall Willen is their most portable model to date. The weight is 310 grams and the speaker is approximately 10 x 10 x 4 cm in size.
These dimensions can accommodate a speaker element of two inches and two passive elements, as well as a 10 watt amplifier and battery that should last for 15 hours. Willen is waterproof according to IP67 and can therefore withstand rain and, at best, a quick dip in the water.
Connection to mobile is done with Bluetooth, and control is done with a four-way button where you can switch songs and change volume. The speaker is made with 60 percent recycled plastic from electronic scrap.
On the back is a rubber strap that can be used as a handle or bracket. This means that the sound from the speaker is directed, but you can connect more than one copy for a more immersive sound. The speaker also has a microphone so you can use it as a speakerphone for phone calls.
The price for Marshall Willen is SEK 1,100, and it will go on sale on June 30.
