With the WhatsApp messaging application, it is possible to delete messages but not to edit them. As for example to correct a spelling mistake, a modification is thus impossible once a message has been sent.
According to WABetaInfothe popular messaging app is working on a message editing feature as part of an upcoming beta version update for Android, iOS and desktop.
The contours of this feature under development are subject to change. WhatsApp could in particular impose certain limits. Moreover, nothing says at this stage that the editing of messages will actually see the light of day in a stable version.
WhatsApp recently rolled out several new features like message reactions with emojis. File sharing has been increased to a maximum size of 2 GB and WhatsApp will allow up to 512 people in a group chat.
