Now the first 240-watt cables with usb-c 2.1 have started to appear at retailers. The cables combine charging with data, audio and video transmission in a single product.
Due to usb-c’s relatively low power capacity, however, the cables have not previously been able to be fully used for power supply when it comes to powerful laptops with discrete graphics cards. Something that usb-c 2.1 can change with the ability to charge up to 240 watts. A typical laptop is usually charged in 40 to 100 watts.
So far, however, no laptop has had time to take advantage of the new technology.
