For the past few days, users of LaPoste’s mail service have been having difficulty consulting their messages from their messaging software or third-party applications.
No need to try to make adjustments or change software, the problem is identified and comes directly from the LaPoste messaging service.
For the past few days, LaPoste.net has been displaying this message:
“As a security measure, the POP and IMAP protocols are temporarily closed. Your email remains accessible from this page or via the Laposte.net mobile application. Our technical teams are doing everything they can to restore the proper functioning of the service. We apologize. for the inconvenience caused.
The Laposte.net team”
Tens of thousands of user accounts are affected by these new data security measures. It has thus become impossible to retrieve emails via a POP or IMAP transfer and therefore via Gmail, Thunderbird or any other messaging software external to that of the Post Office.
We do not really know why the postal service has come to this extreme, it does not seem that the service has been the subject of any hacking (professionals have 72 hours to report data leaks to the CNIL)
Only solution for users of the service: use the LaPoste webmail on the official website: https://www.laposte.net. LaPoste said the measure was in place for an indefinite period as of today.
