IT House June 4 news, according to Apple Insider, AppleTogether organizers condemned Apple’s intimidation tactics at the Cumberland Apple Store in Atlanta, denying that the union vote was cancelled.

It follows reports that employees at the Apple Cumberland store in Atlanta have abandoned plans to vote on joining the union. The report said the vote request had been withdrawn, particularly because of Apple’s alleged use of illegal union-busting tactics.

Following Bloomberg’s subsequent report on Apple raising wages, the organizers behind the AppleTogether labor group objected. They said the media had falsely claimed the union vote was canceled and opposed the suggestion that the vote was accidentally dropped.

The union vote was originally scheduled for June 2, but there was no word on when the rescheduled vote might be held.

Apple Cumberland is the first Apple Store to publicly discuss unions. Several stores followed.Reports say Apple has been hiring anti-union lawyers, and retail chief Deirdre O’Brien sent a video to employees claiming unionization could slow progress in the workplace.
