Yesterday we already reported on the first indications of an upcoming Radeon RX 6700 based on a listing. The graphics card should be a slimmed down version of the Radeon RX 6700XT and offer 10 GiB graphics memory on a narrower memory interface with a smaller GPU expansion at the same time. Sapphire is now the first manufacturer to provide further information about the new graphics card.

Yesterday’s assumptions are confirmed. The built-in Navi 22 GPU now only has 36 compute units, resulting in 2,304 stream processors. The infinity cache has shrunk to 80 MB and the 10,240 MB graphics memory has to make do with a 160-bit bus. Fortunately, with the Radeon RX 6700, AMD seems to have decided to connect the full PCI-E slot electrically, which means that all 16 lanes can be used.

AMD: Hints of Radeon RX 6700 with 10 GB of memory surfaced

Sapphire is initially offering two models of the RX 6700. The Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 (Dual) marks the entry and features a Dual-X cooling solution. The base clock is 2,330 MHz, while the boost clock is specified as up to 2,495 MHz. The card has three DP and one HDMI connection and is also suitable for small builds with a length of 242 mm in a dual-slot form factor.

The Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 Pulse ranks above. It offers the same basic specifications and clock speeds, but has a larger cooler that measures 2.2 slots and is also two centimeters longer. Both cards have a single eight-pin power connector, which means that the cards in combination with the PCI-E slot can draw a maximum of 225 watts, which Sapphire almost exhausts with a board power of 220 watts.

AMD has not yet provided any further information on the Radeon RX 6700. Since the RRP of the Radeon RX 6650 XT is €449 and the Radeon RX 6700 XT was officially available from €479, the question still arises as to where to put a Radeon RX 6700 would be and whether the model still makes sense this late in the product cycle.
