Last month, users discovered a bug in iOS 15 that caused the Apple Music app to automatically be added to the Dock after a reinstall and replace the app already there. Now, with iOS 15.6 beta 2 for developers coming out this week, this bug has finally been fixed.
As noted YouTuber Aaron Zollo, iOS 15.6 no longer automatically adds Apple Music to the Dock after reinstalling the app. After reinstalling the Music app, it appears on the last page of the home screen like any other regular app.
As soon as this bug was discovered, the Internet began to complain about Apple that the Apple Music app was specifically replacing competing apps in the dock, such as Spotify. Users believed that Apple was using anti-competitive policies to put Apple Music at the center of attention for iPhone and iPad users. However, this was not the case.
In iOS 15, Apple Music was added to the Dock due to a bug, in the iOS code there is a special internal file containing the positions of each standard application. This file is used to arrange applications after resetting the phone to factory settings. Apple has probably never tested what happens if the user uninstalls and reinstalls the Music app, or any other app that’s in the Dock by default.
An Apple representative later confirmed publication 9to5Macthat the company is investigating this bug. Now with the release of iOS 15.6 beta 2, it has been fixed.

It’s worth noting that iOS 15.6 is currently in beta and it’s not clear when it will be released publicly.
