Sony and Guerrilla Games released first game scenes of Horizon VR: Call of the Mountain at State of Play on June 2nd. They show that the title is to be taken literally.

In the PSVR2-exclusive Call of the Mountain, for the first time, Aloy is not at the center of the narrative. Instead, the story is told from the point of view of the former shadow Carja Ryas, who is tasked with investigating a new threat to the Sun Kingdom in order to eradicate his transgressions.
The first game scenes shown in the trailer are strongly reminiscent of the climbing game “The Climb” – but with significantly more thunder jaws and archery action.

In addition to the main story, during which you will also meet Aloy himself, Horizon VR: Call of the Mountain will also include a “river ride experience”. Here the landscape should be in the foreground, but fights against machines are also on the program. According to Sony, this mode is intended to act as a demo for PSVR2 and convince people of the possibilities of virtual reality.

A release date for Horizon VR: Call of the Mountain has not yet been set. However, it can probably be assumed that this will be close to the PlayStation VR 2 release date, which has not yet been announced.
