The repair period for equipment and cars in Russia is planned to be doubled. The initiative is being discussed by the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Rospotrebnadzor, reports News.
Now in Russia, consumer goods must be repaired under warranty within 45 days. But due to shortages of parts and supply problems, the services cannot complete the repairs on time.
The new initiative proposes to increase the repair period to 90 days by one year. This is stated in a letter from the Ministry of Economic Development, which was sent to Rospotrebnadzor and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Now there are often reasons beyond the control of companies for which there is a delay in deliveries. This leads to the impossibility of meeting the deadlines that are provided by law.

In addition to the extended deadlines, it is planned to impose a moratorium on the collection of fines from companies in the amount of 50% of the amount that the court awards to the consumer for failure to fulfill any obligations. [Известия]
