A 24-year-old man has been charged with robbing a Linden gas station at knifepoint last month, authorities said. Elijah Ali forced his way into the back room of an Exxon station on Routes 1 & 9 at 10:15 p.m. on May 1, Linden police said. Ali swung a knife at an employee who approached him as he filled a garbage bag with cash and cigarettes, police said. He then fled the store, police said. The clerk was not hurt, police said. Ali, of Irvington, was arrested Friday and charged with armed robbery, burglary and weapons offenses. He was sent to the Union County jail ahead of a detention hearing. “…
