The results of an analysis on the topic of “digital habits” of children aged 3 to 14 years have appeared on the network. It was held by the Russian operator Megafon among its clients.
According to statistics, children practically do not talk on the phone and do not send regular SMS. The duration of outgoing calls on “children’s” SIM cards does not exceed two minutes per day. Most of all, children “sit” on YouTube and other video services – about 44% of the traffic falls on them. This is followed by browsing different sites (19%), instant messengers (13%) and social networks (9%). Games take up only 7% of traffic.
Among the smartphones that are usually given to children “to be torn apart”, there are several models. Most often, they buy the budget Redmi 9A, in second and third place are the Samsung Galaxy A12 and Xiaomi Redmi 9C NFC. But in fourth place was the six-year-old iPhone 7 – the device has a productive even for 2022 Apple A10 chip and 2 GB of RAM, which allows children to play games without problems and quickly interact with the smartphone. At the same time, the device is already quite “aged” and is very inexpensive in the secondary market.
